After rumors reported earlier in July that the Xperia Z5, the next flagship smartphone for Sony, will have a release date of September, popular leaker Leaksfly claimed a similar release date for the highly anticipated device.

According to Leaksfly, the Xperia Z5 will have a September launch date to put itself into competition with Apple's iPhone 6s and Samsung's Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ smartphones.

In addition to the release date of the Xperia Z5, Leaksfly also revealed partial specifications of the device, which he claims to be the final configuration for the smartphone.

The Xperia Z5 will be featuring a 5.5-inch display with 1080p resolution, and will pack the Snapdragon 810 chipset of Qualcomm which is the same one used by the Xperia Z3+. The smartphone will be powered by 3GB of RAM and will include an internal storage capacity of 32GB.

The Xperia Z5 will also be featuring a 20.7MP rear-facing camera and an 8MP front-facing camera, along with three types of protection and fingerprint scanner technology, according to Leaksfly.

The revealed information coincides with the contents of a User Agent Profile that suggests the Xperia Z5 will have 1080p resolution on its display and will be powered by the Snapdragon 810.

None of the information posted by Leaksfly, however, has been confirmed by Sony.

Hype regarding the device is being played up especially with a pair of leaked promotional images that possibly brands the Xperia Z5 as "Made for Bond."

The images bear the stated tagline with the "Xperia *5" text below it, with the letter blurred out. Below it is the logo for the upcoming James Bond film, Spectre 007.

The device being referred to by the poster could definitely be the Xperia Z5, as the flagship would have the specifications needed to be branded as a smartphone that has been made for an international spy icon.

Spectre 007 will be released on Nov. 6, which would put it in line with promotions for the then released Xperia Z5, if the September launch date for the smartphone is indeed true.

As with the information posted by Leaksfly, the leaked image has not been officially confirmed by Sony.
