One of the world's largest retailers has found that four of its products have tested positive for Salmonella, and is now recalling the products from customers and stores.

Salmonella is typically found to contaminate poultry and raw meat, but the bacteria has this time found its way into the contents of four of Kroger's seasoning products.

The company announced on July 25 that the four seasonings possibly contaminated with Salmonella are Kroger Garlic Powder, Kroger Coarse Ground Black Pepper, Kroger Ground Cinnamon and Kroger Bac'n Buds.

In a store in North Augusta in North Carolina, the FDA tested a Kroger Garlic Powder sample and found that the seasoning was contaminated with Salmonella. Although no one has reported getting sick, Kroger is keen on getting the purchases of the four seasonings back to prevent its customers from consuming any hazardous or defective products.

No tests have shown positive Salmonella contamination of the other three seasonings; however, the company is aware that these were also produced using the same equipment and in the same facility as the garlic powder. Potentially contaminated products have now been removed from stores, but the company alerted those who purchased the items to return them to the stores where they were bought.

Kroger notified through registered receipt tape messages and phone calls the customers who possibly bought the recalled products.

The company is also recalling items from Kroger stores in the 31 states where it does business:

Baker's Foods Co. Jay C Ralphs
City Market Fred Meyer King Soopers Ruler Foods
Dillons Fry's Owen's Scott's
Food 4 Less Gerbes Pay Less Smith's
