EA Access and backwards compatibility on the Xbox One together is turning out to be a deadly combination that could benefit Microsoft and Electronic Arts significantly in the years to come.

We all know EA Access as the service that provides exciting games in a vault for just $29.99 dollars per year. By paying that amount on a yearly basis, Xbox One owners can play all the games in the vault for as long as they want.

At the moment, there are only 13 games in the vault, and all of them are modern titles. However, with the advent of backwards compatibility coming to the Xbox One, Electronic Arts is making plans to introduce Xbox 360 games to the vault in the future.

We know this because a Twitter user asked the EA Access guys on the micro-blogging platform about the prospects of this happening, and the answer, while not a resounding yes, is a proof enough that the company is looking into the possibility.

"We're investigating adding backwards compatible EA games to EA Access in the future. Stay tuned," says EA Access on Twitter.

We see no reason why EA would fail to make this happen, but the big question is, how will it work?

Well, we suspect for those are already owners of some EA games on the Xbox 360, will not need EA Access to play them. For the gamers who did not get the chance to play some EA games in the past, we see EA Access as the perfect catalyst to take a trip down memory lane.

The move would also add more value and diversity to the service.

If EA is really serious about going down this path, we suspect the company might make a big announcement before the end of the year, or early on in 2016. After that, we think it would be safe to say that EA Access is here to stay because gamers are going to jump in to take advantage of the $29.99 dollars per year, sweet deal.
