Slowly but surely, the release date for Destiny: The Taken King creeps closer — but it's not here yet. It's still business as usual in the Tower, and that means Xur is on hand to sell you exotic items you likely already have but still want to shop for anyway.

With the introduction of exotic blueprints and news that certain pieces of gear will become upgraded in what Bungie is calling Destiny "year two," Xur is still as important as ever. Players who are determined to have a complete blueprint collection will want to snag every exotic they can get their hands on — even if it means dismantling gear shortly after acquiring it. If you have nearly every exotic, you'll be set when you hit level 40 and can proceed to craft an upgraded year two version of some of your favorite pieces.

So what does Xur have this weekend that might be worth throwing down some Strange Coins? Plan C is a solid fusion rifle, if you are looking for one with arc damage, though it isn't anything to go nuts over. Crest of Alpha Lupi is a solid chest piece for Hunters looking to help out the team, with its ability to revive teammates faster. You can expect it to make the jump to year two.

If you are feeling lucky, you can roll the dice and purchase an exotic gauntlet engram from Xur for 23 Motes of Light, though you might want to hang on to some of your coins and Motes of Light for the expansion. Who knows what they will be used for? Xur can be found in the hangar bay. Simply turn right upon spawning, go through the tunnel and turn right once you reach the hangar to find him. Below is his exact location, courtesy of Destinylfg.com. Read on for Xur's full wares and prices.

Peregrine Greaves (exotic Titan leg armor) - 13 Strange Coins

Crest of Alpha Lupi (exotic Hunter chest) - 13 Strange Coins
