Come Tuesday, September 8, fans of the Moto 360 can look forward to seeing the next-gen smartwatch as Lenovo has confirmed an event for its launch in Shanghai.

On Tuesday, Sept. 1, Lenovo took to popular Chinese social network Weibo to tease the impending Moto 360 II smartwatch. The image of a new Moto 360 smartwatch, presumably the much-rumored Moto 360 II in rose gold, was accompanied by the tag line: "It's time."

The image shared by Lenovo of the upcoming Motorola smartwatch is in line with previous leaks, which show the watch hands in the 2 o'clock position.

The teaser also has the date Sept. 8, 2015, suggesting that the smartwatch will make its appearance at the company's event in Shanghai.

Rumors have been rife that Lenovo-owned Motorola has two variants of the Moto 360 II smartwatch in the works,  a small model called S and a large one called L. Both watches will tout a circular dial and a better resolution of 360 x 360 pixels, as compared to the original Moto 360's 360 x 290 pixels.

The Moto 360S will have a 1.37-inch screen and its dial will measure 38mm. It will have a 270mAh battery and a 20mm wristband. The Moto 360L, on the other hand, will have a 1.55-inch screen and its dial will measure 42mm. It will house a 375mAh battery and a 22mm wristband. The smartwatches are also anticipated to support Chinese interface for the regional market.

It is also rumored that Motorola has a sport variant of the smartwatch in the pipeline, which will tout 3ATM water resistance, a hybrid display, barometer and GPS.

The Moto 360 II Sport will allegedly be released a few months after the Moto 360L and Moto 360S, possibly in November.

Currently, no information on the pricing or release date of the Moto 360S and Moto 360L is available. It is anticipated that the wearables will hit the shelves in time for the holiday season.
