A new image has leaked that shows the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 next to the 5.1-inch Samsung Galaxy S5. The iPhone 6 is slightly shorter and has thinner bezels around the sides of its display.

Apple can't be pleased that the world is getting to see images of its next-generation iPhone 6 before the company officially unveils the smartphone in the fall. Images and details of the iPhone 6 have been hitting the web on an almost daily basis and it doesn't look like that's about to change anytime soon.

The 4.7-inch iPhone 6 was spotted next to Apple's current flagship and 4-inch iPhopne 5s. We also recently reported that an image of what is reportedly the iPhone 6's rear case was posted online. The image showed a new design tweak that Apple appears to be using for the first time on an iPhone. The familiar Apple logo that has been stamped to the back of each previous iPhone has been physically cutout. It's unclear why Apple has chosen to do this but there are some possible reasons why.

Some reports have claimed that one possible explanation is that Apple plans on using a similar design found on its laptops, which includes a cutout that lets the Apple logo glow while the computer is powered on. The idea is that Apple might use the cutout on the iPhone 6 to alert users of notifications. Another possible reason floating around is that Apple may add NFC to the iPhone 6 for mobile payments and the cutout would allow the signal to more easily escape. NFC, or Near Field Communications, is a short-range wireless link that can transfer data between two devices held near each other. Pay for your morning coffee with a tap of your phone.

We can now report that the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 has taken part in a photo shoot with its biggest rival, the Samsung Galaxy S5. GSM Arena posted an image of a white iPhone 6 next to the white Galaxy S5. The image shows that Apple's iPhone 6 won't be nearly as wide as Samsung's current flagship and its 4.7-inch display makes the iPhone 6's overall size slightly shorter than the Galaxy S5. This could allow the iPhone 6 to retain better one-handed usage, something Apple has focused on whenever it has increased the size of the iPhone's display.

You can also see that Apple is using thinner bezels around the sides of the iPhone 6's display when compared with the Galaxy S5, while the Galaxy S5 has thinner bezels around its top and bottom.

We expect to see more leaked images and details leading up to the launch of the iPhone 6, with many reports claiming Apple will hold an iPhone 6 event on Sept. 19 to officially announce the smartphone. As always, you can be assured we'll keep you posted on any new information.
