Game of Thrones is known for many things — dragons, epic battles, terrible people doing terrible things to good people ... and sex, lots of sex.

It sounds like star Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys Targaryen on Game of Thrones, may have found herself on the set of the wrong show. She's already expressed her desire to never again go nude on Game of Thrones, but her more recent comments to The Daily Mail make it abundantly clear that Clarke isn't a fan of taking off her clothes for the camera or watching others do the same.

"Sex scenes should be more subtle," Clarke told the site. "I'm British, so I cringe at that sort of thing anyway — I can't stand it."

She went on to say she finds most of the sex depicted on television and film "gratuitous."

"I don't want to have sex thrown in my face and I've always thought the suggestion is so much more titillating than the act itself," she said.

She then added, "Most sex scenes you see in films or on TV are gratuitous and they're usually just to attract an audience."

That much is true. It's kind of what HBO is known for at this point — but it's curious that Clarke is so open with these kind of comments considering just how much sex and nudity is featured on the show that has made her a star. Even though Clarke has it written in her contract not to show nudity (her co-star Oona Chaplin, says Clarke told her bosses she "wanted to be known for [her] acting, not [her] breasts"), there are still plenty of breasts, butts and the occasional penis to be seen on HBO's flagship show.

Occasionally, the show has called for Clarke's character to once again go topless in more recent seasons, and in those cases, her body double, Rosie Mac, steps in. If Clarke hadn't made the no-nudity clause of her contract publicly known, there is little chance fans would have ever guessed it wasn't actually Clarke onscreen when the clothes come off.
