Just because Alex Morgan is a member of the World Cup-winning United States women's national team and one of the cover subjects of FIFA 16 doesn't mean she's a skilled gamer.

Just because Kobe Bryant is an ultra-competitive five-time NBA champion who grew up playing soccer in Italy doesn't mean he's any good at it either.

Appearing on ESPN's SportsCenter on Tuesday, September 22, to promote FIFA 16's official release, Morgan shared a story about recently going one-on-one in the game against Bryant and how they both need to improve their thumb-tapping skills.

"Well, it was interesting," a smiling Morgan said about matching up with Bryant in the game. "We were equally as bad, although we talked a lot of crap to each other. We were having fun with it. We were really trying to score against each other because they wanted us to really have fun with it and be excited when we score."

Morgan continued, saying she hit the crossbar on one of her scoring attempts, but that "the ball would not go in the net." Back in July, Morgan told Jimmy Kimmel that she's really bad at the game — so not much has changed in two months.

The forward added that she has yet to play as herself, but intends to do so in the next couple of weeks.

It's no coincidence that Morgan played Bryant, as the Los Angeles Lakers great made a cameo in EA Sports' Play Beautiful, the official ad for FIFA 16, kicking a basketball into a basket. Considering how competitive these two are, it probably won't take long before they're serious FIFA 16 gamers. Then, perhaps, they can have a rematch.
