Now that it has been confirmed that the Transformers will be brought back to the big screen for installments 5, 6, 7 and 8, that leaves a whole lot of room for some of the lesser-known Autobots and Decepticons to have their time in the limelight.

Sure, Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Megatron and Star Scream will always remain fan favorites, but there's always room on the team for the little guys, right?

Here are some of the more obscure Transformers we've dug up who would make interesting additions to the Transformer movies in the coming years.

Elita One

Most of the movie Transformers with significant screen time were males. But how about some representation from the female bots? Elita One is an Autobot from the Transformers universe who survived an attack on the ark when Optimus Prime and the other Autobots fled from their home planet of Cybertron. Since then, she and other female Autobots have been fighting against Decepticons back at home as a sort of guerilla rebellion group.

Orion Pax

If one of the upcoming Transformers movies happens to be a prequel, the story of Orion Pax may make for good plotline fodder. Orion was a dockworker on Cybertron ages before the war between the Autobots and Decepticons began. He was damaged during an attack led by Megatron, rebuilt by Alpha Trion and was turned into a great Cybertron warrior and hero — Optimus Prime.

Deszaras a.k.a. Deathsaurus

Deszaras was the Japanese name for this bad boy Decepticon who took over as leader years after the death of Megatron. He gave himself the title of "Decepticon Emperor of Destruction," and transformed, not into a vehicle, but into a kaiju.

Megaplex

This Decepticon looks like Megatron. In fact, he looks exactly like Megatron because is one of the many clones the leader of the bad bots made to foil any assasination attempts against him. And in case Megaplex ever decided to try to usurp his master, Megatron always kept a kill switch handy to blow Megaplex to bits.
