A massive Samsung Galaxy View Tablet with a whopping 18.6-inch display got the necessary FCC approval, suggesting that it may launch soon on AT&T.

This enormous tablet has been making rounds recently, popping up online on several occasions already. Initially with the codename "Tahoe," recent reports revealed that the device will launch as the Samsung Galaxy View.

Samsung itself teased this monster tablet during its Gear S2 unveiling, but didn't offer any details on specs, release or pricing. The purported Galaxy View has now passed through the FCC and the listing reveals more tidbits of information regarding its dimensions, features and carrier availability.

Specifically, the FCC listing for the SM-T677A version of the Samsung Galaxy View confirms that the tablet will make its way to the U.S. One illustration featured in this listing shows an AT&T logo on the tablet's back side (see image above), which means that the Samsung Galaxy View will be launching at least on AT&T. It remains unclear at this point whether AT&T will be one of the carriers to offer the device or whether it will have exclusivity. The same illustration also shows two large speaker grilles adorning each side, which suggests that the tablet will have high-quality stereo audio.

When it came to dimensions, previous leaks already revealed that the Galaxy View tablet would boast a massive 18.4- or 18.5-inch display, but didn't specify just how big the device will be overall. The FCC documents now list the tablet with a physical diagonal of 513 mm, which is more than 20 inches, and dimensions of 447 mm x 272 mm, i.e. about 17.6 x 10.7 inches. The screen's diagonal measures 472 mm, which translates to an 18.6-inch display, slightly larger than previously thought.

A recent GFX benchmark, meanwhile, listed the purported Samsung Galaxy View tablet with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, which would translate to a meager pixel density of roughly 120 ppi on that screen size. Other purported listed in the benchmark include an octa-core Exynos processor, ARM Mali-T720 graphics, 25 GB of internal storage capacity and a 2-megapixel front camera, with no rear shooter. The tablet is further expected to pack a 5,700 mAh battery. On the software side, the benchmark listed Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

Samsung has yet to make an official announcement regarding this massive Galaxy View tablet, but the FCC listing suggests that it may be ready launch soon enough. The FCC is typically one of the last stops before a device hits the market, so the Samsung Galaxy View could hit AT&T momentarily.
