Not too long ago, Google already released Android 6.0 Marshmallow into Nexus handsets and a few Android One variants.

People who are currently using custom ROMs will soon rejoice as Cyanogen, a custom ROM maker, has confirmed the CyanogenMod 13 build based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow is finally in the works.

The news that CyanogenMod is currently working on the custom ROM was spotted on Reddit.

Additionally, CyanogenMod has already started pushing relevant CyanogenMod 13 code commits to its Gerrit repository.

While this implies that it may take some time until people can enjoy the benefits CyanogenMod 13 will bring on their devices, it is still good news that the build is already in the pipeline.

It is also expected that the team will dish out nightly builds or beta releases prior to the release of the new stable build.

A customized ROM developed by a third party is specifically beneficial for folks who do not like to wait for the arrival of official updates for their devices. This is also great for individuals who wish for a substitute software.

Meanwhile, the customized ROM maker recently unveiled a smartphone that houses a custom form of Android will land on the Indian market in the near future. This phone, to be referred to as Yutopia, is going to be made by YU, Cyanogen's partner in India.

Specifics-wise, the device is rumored to be equipped with a 5.2-inch screen that comes with a 1,080p or 2K panel which translates to 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. The handset will be powered by Snapdragon 810 processor that works in tandem with 32GB of internal storage as well as 4GB of RAM. It is also rumored a 3GB of RAM version will be offered.

Yutopia is likewise believed to boast a 21MP rear camera as well as an 8MP front shooter. A report says it will be unveiled sporting a Cyanogen OS 12.1 out of the box and will eventually be updated to Marshmallow down the road.

The CyanogenMod recently announced it has extended support to a number of midrange devices, which include those coming from Huawei, Xiaomi, WileyFox as well as Smarten.
