Ever been to a batting cage, only to take a big whiff and completely miss a fastball fired toward you?

Well, put a trained Samurai in a batting cage with a sword ... and you're likely to get different results. In a clip making the rounds on the Internet, master swordsman Isao Machii slices a 100 mile per hour baseball in half with a sword, making it look almost effortless in the process.

In the video, Machii calmly steps up onto a wooden table so that he's eye-level with the pitching machine 30 feet away in the batting cage. He then watches two high-speed pitches zip by him, gauging the baseball's movement, while anticipating how he's going to attack the next fastball.

With the third fastball, Machii swings the sword in one fluid motion, cutting the baseball in half. Upon first glance, you truly won't believe what you just seen, swearing it's some type of camera trick or illusion. However, slow the clip down, and Machii literally slices the baseball in half with one swing of his sword.

Try to read up on the man. This is the same swordsman who has reportedly battled a robot and sliced 80 mph fried shrimp being hurled toward him. That being said, a fastball didn't stand a chance.

The only thing that would have made this video better would have been if a Major League Baseball pitcher was the one throwing that 100 mph pitch.
