Out-of-hospital births seem to be rising in popularity, and the latest data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) shows that more white, non-Hispanic women are opting for this mode, compared to non-Hispanic black women and American Indian women. Nevertheless, pediatricians and obstetricians alike explained that mothers must be told of all the risks and benefits prior to making a decision.
