Tech website TechCrunch confirmed on Tuesday that Apple has purchased Faceshift, the Swiss startup that provided motion capture technology for various games and movies including 'Star Wars.' Tech experts believe Apple would use the technology to create animated avatars for applications such as FaceTime.
