HTC Desire 830 has officially launched and is set to hit the stores in Taiwan on May 6 at a retail price of NT $9,990 (about $310).
Similar to its siblings from the company's Desire lineup, the 830 carries the familiar plastic build and has its color appear mostly white and accented by a colorful edge with contrasting hue as well as a camera ring.
HTC already announced the Desire 530, 630 and 825 at the 2016 Mobile World Congress.
The 5.5-inch Desire 830 boasts a full HD display with a pixel resolution of 1,080 x 1,920. It is powered by MediaTek's octa-core Helio X10 processor at 1.5 GHz. Other specs include a 3 GB RAM, 32 GB internal storage, a microSD slot for storage expansion of up to 128 GB and a 2,800 mAh battery. Dimensions are at 157.5 x 78.9 x 7.79 millimeters (6.2 x 3.1 x 0.31 inches) and the weight is at 156 grams (0.34 pounds).
As for photography buffs, the Desire 830 will feature a 4 MP HTC Ultrapixel front camera and a 13 MP rear camera, which for the first time in an HTC midrange device, shall come equipped with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). Both cameras will also have an f/2.0 aperture which should allow decent photo capture even in low-light situations.
Tech Times reported on how the images and specs of the HTC Desire 830 were unveiled by Nowhereelse. The images showed the handset designed with a non-aluminum body and its case made out of white plastic.
One of the exciting features that consumers can expect to find in the Desire 830 is the Dolby-powered stereo speakers at the front, which is not exactly found in the HTC 10. With this audio detail, watching movies and playing games can become a very immersive experience with the Desire 830. Moreover, the speakers are of Hi-Res quality, making the handset an enticing find without hurting the pocket.
The Desire 830 will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Sense UI out of the box. There is no information yet on whether the handset will also be launched in the United States, Europe and other areas. You can check more on the device at the Taiwan-based site called Eprice.
