North Korea declared on July 4 it had successfully tested its first intercontinental ballistic missile.

Numerous images of the new defense tech are even spreading; showing NoKor Supreme Leader Kim Jong-Un besides the nuclear drone.

Other photos show the actual output of the test, revealing a massive explosion in the middle of the sea off East Korea Bay.

KCNA (Korean Central News Agency) said that the new drone is called the Unmanned Underwater Nuclear Attack Craft "Haeil."

North Korea's Nuclear-Capable Underwater Drone

According to CNN World's latest report, Haeil was tested from Mar. 21 to Mar. 23.

The North Korean government used underwater drones to cruise across the waters off the country's east coast for over 59 hours.

After that, the nuclear warhead it carried was detonated on Thursday, March 23. Some rumors claimed that the warheads Haeil carries can even create a radioactive tsunami.

"The mission of the underwater nuclear strategic weapon is to stealthily infiltrate into operational waters and make a super-scale radioactive tsunami through underwater explosion," said KCNA.

The North Korea-backed news agency added that this can destroy major operational ports, as well as naval striker groups of enemies.

Is the Haeil Drone real?

NBC News reported that the new nuclear-power underwater drone's test was conducted to alert the United States and its allies.

This means that Haeil shows that NoKor's nuclear defense is further growing. However, instead of panicking, numerous critics doubt the capabilities of Haeil.

Analysts said that the claimed underwater drone test lacks strong proof and they added that North Korea tends to exaggerate the capabilities and deployments of its nuclear technologies.
