Anyone who has been on Facebook for any amount of time has probably had at least one run in with the Candy Crush saga. Whether you have played the game or not, you've probably gotten an invitation to play the game.

According to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, however, thankfully a fix for all of the Candy Crush invitations is on the way.

Zuckerberg, who recently spoke at the Indian Institute of Technology in Dehli, said he first noticed that Candy Crush invitations were a problem when it was the most upvoted question on an online thread. Because of this, he sent a message to a developer platform lead at Facebook to try and figure out a solution to the problem.

Apparently the developer lead said that there are some tools in Facebook games that allow users to send invitations to players who had never played the game. Those tools were reportedly outdated, and Facebook did not put shutting them down as a top priority. While Facebook did have other priorities, the company has now heard how important this issue is for users and will be prioritizing helping put a stop to game invitations on the social media network.

One of the reasons these invitations are so frustrating is that they are designed to reward those that send them, meaning that senders tend to over-send them to get in-game rewards.

Of course, thankfully the popularity of games like Candy Crush and FarmVille is going down, although the invitations are still a frustrating problem.

Facebook has not yet announced any sort of timeline for the fix, but it doesn't seem like it should be too hard to change and hopefully those fixes will be released in the near future.
