The BlackBerry Priv is set to go on sale in only a week, and BlackBerry itself isn't slowing down in pushing the new device. Most recently, a number of overview videos were uploaded to YouTube showing off the features of the first BlackBerry Android phone.

The videos are designed to show off what the Priv is all about. According to BlackBerry, Priv stands for "privacy" and "privilege," and while it remains to be seen how much of a privilege it is to use the Priv, it is certainly an interesting release.

The first video is called "Priv is for Privacy," and given BlackBerry's background in enterprise, it makes sense that the company would want to highlight how privacy-focused the Priv is. Of course, given how many whistleblowing stories are hitting the news these days, BlackBerry has its work cut out for it when it comes to privacy. The video itself doesn't really do much beyond saying "this phone is secure," but it at least highlights privacy in general.

The second video goes into a little more detail and discusses the actual features that the Priv has to offer. Many of these features were already known, and some of them were only rumored. For example, the Priv offers a 3,410 mAh battery that can keep the device on for 22.5 hours of mixed use. Not only that, but the video also confirms pop-up widgets for apps with home screen widgets.

The BlackBerry Priv certainly is an interesting device, offering a physical slide-out keyboard and an "edge" display similar to Samsung's Edge series. It remains to be seen, however, whether or not this is enough to sell the device and revive BlackBerry's failing smartphone business. The price of the Priv will be $699 in North America, with shipping scheduled to start on Nov. 6.
