Subscribers of the WWE Network already get around-the-clock programming, all 12 pay-per-view events live and a massive on-demand library of nearly 4,000 hours of content at their disposal.

Well, WWE just made its on-demand library that much more enjoyable by opening up its archives to now include footage from the likes of the NWA World Championship Wrestling, American Wrestling Association, Global Wrestling Federation, Midwest South Wrestling and Smoky Mountain Wrestling.

While the names of the associations might only strike a chord with old-school wrestling fans, their archives being available to the masses spells pro-wrestling fans being able to trace the origins and early ring days of Steve Austin, Sting, Shawn Michaels, Chris Jericho and the late Ultimate Warrior.

That could mean seeing Austin when he went by the moniker "Stunning" Steve Austin and possibly a glimpse of the Blade Runners tag team, which consisted of Sting and the Ultimate Warrior, well before they became household names as singles competitors.

Unlocking the vault to classic footage means a more comprehensive on-demand library that should leave little to be desired for even the most hardcore extreme pro-wrestling fans who can't get enough of the squared circle.

So, while there's bound to be footage through the years that still isn't offered via WWE Network's on-demand library, these promos and matches being added right in time for the New Year could help deliver more yearly subscribers to the platform in 2016.

Let's see if there's footage of "Mean" Mark Callous, who went on to become the Undertaker, and Kevin Nash, who was originally known as Vinnie Vegas in his earliest WCW days.
