One could make the case for Serena Williams, Ronda Rousey, Misty Copeland, Carli Lloyd, Becky Hammon and Jen Welter already being super heroes in their respective sports.

But espnW is taking that a step further. The Worldwide Leader in Sports' women's platform tabbed Marvel artists to draw up original renderings of the athletes as a tribute for being named honorees for its Impact25 list of influencers and athletes in 2015.

"What do you get when espnW IMPACT25 honorees Carli Lloyd, Lydia Ko, Serena Williams, Ronda Rousey and Misty Copeland join forces with Ms. Marvel, The Black Widow, Thor, She-Hulk and Medusa?" espnW teases on its launch page, unveiling the Marvel artist renderings of the athletes. "A #SUPERSQUAD, that's what."

One can say that again. The super versions of the athletes can then be seen on espnW's interactive page, which allows visitors to slide each Impact athlete or influencer's rendering to see its full look. Tech Times thinks all the renderings are top-notch, but that the sketches of Copeland, Lloyd, Williams and Rousey especially stand out amongst the crowd. espnW complemented the Marvel artists renderings, which look like they're straight out of a comic book, by editorializing the athletes' super personas with catchy names.

Copeland was named 'The Principal,' referring to the American Ballet Theatre promoting her to principal dancer this past June, marking the first time an African-American woman held the title in the company's 75-year history.

Hammon was given the name, 'The Mastermind' for guiding the San Antonio Spurs' Development League team to the NBA Summer League title.

Lloyd, of the U.S. women's World Cup-winning national soccer championship team, fittingly received the moniker of 'The Boss,' while tennis legend Williams has 'Super Galactic Slam' attached to her name, and Rousey with 'Rowdy's Revenge.'
