He is a bit pudgy, but he can get around. Even without his dinosaur mount, Yoshi.

In this live-action fan video for Super Smash Bros. the iconic Super Mario finds himself running through Japan and taking a train to a fighting tournament. The video is the work of Dean Wright, a visual effects artist.

"I'm a huge Super Smash Bros fan and with games for the Nintendo Wii U and 3DS coming out later this year, I wanted to make a fun commercial style project as an homage to the game and characters," Wright states on his blog.

The result is a fun video that does come across as a professional commercial, rather than some fan's practicing with 3D software. Wright also worked on the teaser for the new animated television series "Mighty No. 9," from Keiji Inafune, the creator of the Mega Man games.

Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS will be released on October 3, with the Wii U version coming holiday season.
