Now that Hideo Kojima has officially parted ways with Konami, many Metal Gear Solid fans may be wondering what lies ahead for the future of the franchise. There is no doubt that the series won't be the same without its director, but that doesn't mean the video game publisher won't continue to release new MGS titles.

In fact, Konami is already looking to replace Kojima, and is actively looking for new developers to work on the next Metal Gear Solid game.

According to Konami Group's career page located on its website, the publisher is now recruiting development staff for a "New Metal Gear" title.

Of course, those who apply must have experience in high-end game development, "boundless imagination," and passion for what they do, along with submitting their resume of past work on games and their portfolio.

Both Konami's Tokyo and Los Angeles studios are featured on the job listing.

The news that Konami is looking for developers follows Kojima's announcement that he left Konami and has established an independent studio called Kojima Productions, with its first game to be an exclusive for Sony's PlayStation 4.

The drama between Kojima and Konami had been bubbling for months, with the breakup inevitable.

Earlier this month, Kojima was banned from attending the Dec. 3 Game Awards because of contractual obligations with the publisher. In July, Kojima's name was removed from the updated Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain box art.

While we wait to see what the video game designer will come up with next away from the popular series, developers who love Metal Gear can apply for Konami's open position.
