With a new expansion coming soon to Dying Light, developer Techland just released a trailer showing off one of the DLC's new features: a customizable dune buggy.

In "The Following," players get a dune buggy that they can customize by changing the way it looks, changing its colors, adding weapons and even gaining driving levels by taking out zombies while behind the wheel.

This trailer shows off many features of the vehicle, which will become important for surviving the new outback area setting introduced in the expansion.

"Your buggy is going to be crucial to surviving out in the open, so we want to create an emotional connection between players and their ride," said producer Tymon Smektała in an email press release. "On top of the lethal weapons and upgrades you'll be able to add, there are a lot of cool paint jobs, a number of unmistakable bobble heads and little charms to put inside, so you can really make the buggy your own."

In "The Following," players will have the opportunity to upgrade their buggy weapon with a variety of items, including flamethrowers, UV headlights and ramming bars. Buggies are also customizable and the expansion will allow players to choose from 40 unique paint jobs and a variety of accessories, such as charms and bobble heads. As players progress through the game, they can modify their vehicles by adding better suspension, engine, brakes and other parts that will improve performance.

"The Following" picks up shortly after events at the end of Dying Light. Kyle Crane, now stranded in Harran, finds a map that takes him to another area, one so vast that it is larger than the maps of the base game. Crane must travel to this dangerous outback, fight off hordes of zombies and confront a fanatical cult that could have information about how the zombie apocalypse began.

"Gamescom 2015 was our first chance to let people play Dying Light: The Following, so I was a bit nervous," said Smektała. "But so many positive reactions really showed me we made the right decision to work on this expansion. With its new map and far-reaching gameplay additions, it feels like we've hit the sweet spot for what players are expecting from us."

"The Following" expansion releases for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on Feb. 9 for $19.99 as a digital download and as part of the Dying Light Season Pass and the Dying Light: The Following - Enhanced Edition.
