As sad as it is to say, leaks are everywhere these days. In fact, it's gotten so bad that leaks are something people expect to see - something actually staying a secret until its official reveal feels like an oddity.

What's strange is that just about anything can be leaked: while it makes sense that someone leaked something huge, like the first Suicide Squad trailer, were fans really expecting someone to go out of their way to leak information regarding a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game? To be fair, the game looks good, and the screenshots that made their way online looked great...but TMNT isn't exactly the same powerhouse franchise that it was a few decades ago.

At the very least, developer Platinum Games can take a moment to laugh at itself: following a ridiculous number of leaks over the past few months, the studio took to Twitter to announce TMNT: Mutants in Manhattan's official reveal.

Or, as they put it, the game's 'official leak':

For those who missed out on the turtle-based drama, the existence of a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game was revealed a few months ago when an Australian ratings board listed the title as in-development. Then, PureXbox released promotional art and screenshots from Mutants in Manhattan, which was then followed by the game's full list of Achievements.

And, for whatever reason, both Activision and Platinum Games refused to acknowledge the game's existence ...until now, that is.

As for what the 'official leak' will actually reveal...well, there's not much left to actually reveal, is there?. All things considered, the game's official debut will likely consist of a trailer and some gameplay footage - anything else would probably dip into spoiler territory.

At the very least, TMNT fans will finally be able to see Mutants in Manhattan in action when the game finally (officially) debuts tomorrow, Jan. 26.
