Snapchat is full of hilarious videos taken and shared by friends and followers, and now users will have the chance to submit their own funny videos in a new contest where they can win a trip to New York City to attend the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival and have their story shared with the world.

Tribeca Film festival announced on Thursday its partnership with Snapchat to launch a new contest that spotlights the best Snapchat Stories.

Called Tribeca Snapchat Shorts, the program embraces the love of storytelling while encouraging amateur filmmakers to get creative using their favorite video messaging app.

Snapchat users from across the U.S. are invited to create a short film up to 200 seconds that follows the comedy theme using the Story function on the platform.

The users starts by creating a funny video (make sure it isn't violent, disrespectful to others and has no profanity), and then taps on the "Save Story" button to save the clip onto their device once finished. This is an important step, since Stories remain live for only 24 hours.

Contestants will then upload the comedic short file from their camera roll to the Tribeca Snapchat Shorts page.

Guidelines for the contest reveal that Snapchatters should shoot their Story vertically, avoid editing the clip with a third-party app, and refrain from using copyrighted material such as a song or image. It's also recommended to start or end the title of the Story with "Tribeca Snapchat Short."

Submissions will be accepted starting on Feb. 27 until March 8, with one entry accepted per person. Just make sure the email and phone number associated with the account is up to date before submitting.

A jury that consists of Tribeca Film programmers, members of Team Snapchat and celebrities Snappers like DJ Khaled will choose 10 winning shorts that will be announced before the 15th annual Tribeca Film Festival in April.

Winners will be flown to NYC (airfare, hotel costs and the festival passes are included) to attend a special event to celebrate the storytellers. They will also take home a swag bag with goodies from the festival, a Snapchat ghost plush and more.

The Tribeca Snapchat Shorts may also be showcased to Snapchat users around the world on the Tribeca Film Festival X Snapchat Discover Channel for one day.
