It looks like Samsung is about to add a new 6-inch phablet to its lineup under the Galaxy A series. The Galaxy A9 Pro has just made an appearance on AnTuTu, revealing some of its key specs.

The phablet that underwent benchmark testing was listed as model number SM-A9100 and running Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor, Adreno 510 graphics processing unit, and has 4 GB of RAM.

The Galaxy A9 Pro tested also had 32 GB of internal storage and since it is a variant of the Galaxy A9, it will include a microSD expansion slot that supports up to 128 GB. The phablet's camera capabilities will reportedly consist of a 16-megapixel rear camera and 8-megapixel front-facing shooter for video chat and selfies.

Although the AnTuTu benchmark lists the resolution of the display as being only 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, it is expected to boast a large 6-inch screen.

Samsung launched its latest flagship smartphone and phablet, the 5.1-inch Galaxy S7 and 5.5-inch Galaxy S7 Edge on Feb. 21 at an event before the official opening of the Mobile World Congress. The company gave the screen size of the Galaxy S7 Edge a bump in height compared to that of last year's 5.1-inch Galaxy S6 Edge, which featured the same size display as the S6.

The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are currently available for preorder from Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint and are scheduled to be released worldwide on March 11, although some T-Mobile customers who preordered the devices have received shipment notices and delivery dates as early as Feb. 29.

Samsung has never been shy about releasing as many variants of its smartphones as possible in order to target certain users. For instance, the Galaxy S6 series includes the S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge+, and S6 Active. It appears the company is about to launch a variant of the Galaxy A9, which was introduced at the 2016 CES in January.

There's no word on when we can expect to see the Galaxy A9 Pro officially launched, but we'll keep you posted on any new details.
