Warning: spoilers for The Walking Dead season six, episode 11 ahead.

There's been a lot of buildup and hype over the first appearance of Negan (who will be played by Supernatural vet Jeffrey Dean Morgan) over the second-half of The Walking Dead's sixth season — and if you weren't tuning in to the Oscars last night to see Leo DiCaprio finally nab his golden statuette, you were probably hoping that Negan would finally show.

Unfortunately for Walking Dead fans, that didn't exactly happen — Variety called "Knots Untie" an informational-but-necessary "meat and potatoes" kind of episode — but did finally catch a glimpse as to how much of a terrorizing force he really is, all thanks to Jesus, Gregory and a little rendezvous to Hilltop — and killing a 16-year-old, apparently.

Now that we've really got a Negan-centric prologue under our belts, the question remains: are we finally going to meet the guy? OK, yes, we technically know now that he will finally make his first appearance in the sixth season finale, but with what Morgan has spoken at length about in terms of developing his character for his season six debut, we're hoping that it won't just be a couple of lines and a killer shot during the last seconds of the 12th episode.

Regardless, at least we can enjoy the Rick and Michonne relationship the show has building toward for years. Soak it up now — with this show, you'll never know who will be alive come morning.

Here's the official synopsis for season six, episode 12, titled "Not Tomorrow Yet:

"Rick and the group realize the only way to maintain the peace of Alexandria is to fight a new enemy. This time, though, our group might be outmatched."
