We've seen several indications that point to Gotham City playing a major role in the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice film from DC and Warner Bros. New set photos seem to suggest these indications are true, as a major part of Gotham was spotted on set in Detroit.

The new image shows that the Gotham City Jail will feature in the film, but it is not certain for how long or for what purpose. Someone will definitely be going to jail, breaking out of jail, or visiting someone inside the jail.

It is possible that one of Batman's iconic villains might show up, but why bring this person to Gotham City Jail rather than just take him/her to Arkham. A lot of mystery going on with this shot, not to mention that nothing appears to have been filmed at the jail just yet.

There's also a high possibility that the Gotham City Jail might bring forth the likes of Commissioner James Gordon. If this is the case, we'd definitely love to find out who'll be playing Gotham's most trusted and incorruptible police officer.

A closer look at the Gotham City Jail image shows what appears to be several mugshots of wanted criminals inside. We wouldn't be surprised if many of the most dangerous villains in Gotham are on that mugshot board. The joker is likely there, because he's not known for staying inside Arkham for too long before breaking out.

There are a million reasons why this iconic location will play a part in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice; we're just too excited to come up with it all. What we can say is it doesn't appear as if Zack Snyder will shy away from Gotham and focus too much on the events in Metropolis.

Furthermore, the jail might only feature early on in the film or never at all if scenes here are removed.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is the sequel to the critically acclaimed Man of Steel movie. Henry Cavill will reprise his role a Superman, and Ben Affleck will feature as Batman. In addition, Gal Gadot will join the two powerhouses as Wonder Woman.
