ICT services and solutions provider Dimension Data has acquired messaging and collaboration solutions provider Ceryx. Details of the transaction between the two companies have been kept under record.

Dimension Data offers services in systems integration that provide "specialist IT infrastructure solutions across networking, data center, unified communications, security, desktop and contact center technologies." The company utilizes the technology available in the digital era to help clients realize their full potential in this advanced industry.

Ceryx, on the other hand, provides reliable and secure services that tackle unified messaging and collaboration solutions. Since 2001, the company has been managing advanced and customized solutions for both enterprise and mid-market clients. Ceryx has received multiple IMPACT awards for Hosting Solutions and is currently a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, which is further proof of its expertise with digital business transactions.

The acquisition of Ceryx allows Dimension Data's current model in Microsoft-related solutions - specifically, its Cloud Services for Microsoft - to expand and utilize Ceryx's available systems. The press release announces that Dimension Data can now "provision, manage and optimize cloud workloads" around various applications such as Skype for Business, SharePoint, Exchange and Office 365.

Current Ceryx customers will profit from the deal as investments made by Dimension Data in certain areas of the company will now reinforce messaging and communication structures across end-user computing, mobility, voice and security.

Dimension Data will progressively rebrand Ceryx's systems, which will now reside in the ITaaS (IT-as-a-service) unit of the company. Previous Microsoft services offered by Dimension Data will now be able to supply a comprehensive service portfolio that covers on-premise software as well as public and private clouds.

Ettienne Reinecke, Dimension Data's chief technology officer and group executive, details that the company's clients are now adopting private cloud offerings the company provides for Exchange, SharePoint and Skype for Business.

"In most instances, the optimal fit for them is not one underlying platform, but rather a combination - or hybrid - of platforms," Reinecke says. The union of the two companies boosts their capabilities in assisting clients with their business transformations geared for the "hybrid cloud."

CEO and founder of Ceryx, Gus Harsfai, declares that their company is excited for the joint venture both companies are undertaking as this will strengthen their current system solutions and unlock new opportunities for both parties.
