Music aficionados who are stuck at home over the weekend and are ruing the fact that they will not be able to watch Coachella - the three-day musical extravaganza - live, need not be disappointed.
It doesn't matter if you are unable to make it to the first weekend of the event in Indio, California because select festival performances will be livestreamed on YouTube.
"Not everyone can make it to the California desert, but that doesn't mean you have to miss out on Coachella. Un-leashed by T-Mobile, music fans around the world can tune into Coachella's YouTube channel on April 15-17 to catch performances of both emerging artists and the biggest acts on the lineup," YouTube said on April 11.
How To Watch Coachella 2016
YouTube also covered Coachella in 2015, but this time round, it is pushing out some additional for the music fest. The video-sharing site will stream the performances of a few bands live via different streaming channels.
The YouTube channel for Coachella has several more new features to enrich the viewer's experience. Users will not only have three live stream channels to choose from, but also access to a video-on-demand hub where they can check out the highlights and footage of performances over the weekend.
There will also be an interactive and personalized schedule, so that viewers can customize their live streaming/viewing experience. Basically, the channel will be automatically altered on the basis of the artists/bands the user selects and stream the same live.
The social feed for YouTube's Coachella channel will also show exclusive and the latest highlights from the festival, as well as the best moments.
Which Performances Will Be streamed?
For those wondering which are the select bands whose Coachella performances will be aired live on YouTube, the site has not revealed the details yet. However, YouTube promises that the acts it will be streaming live will be a mix of both emerging artists and bigger names from the complete lineup of performers at Coachella 2016.
When To Watch?
The live streaming will start this Friday, April 15, at 3:30 p.m. PT (6:30 p.m. EST) on the YouTube Coachella 2016 webcast channel. The streaming schedule is expected to be posted closer to the event date.
