The chances of a first season of Marvel's Most Wanted and a third season of Agent Carter look grim, at least according to a new report by the Hollywood Reporter.

ABC confirmed Marvel's Most Wanted last year. The series, which would serve as a spin-off of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., would focus on ex-S.H.I.E.L.D. agents Mockingbird and Lance Hunter. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. effectively wrote the two characters off earlier this season in anticipation of this new series.

Now, though, it seems that Marvel's Most Wanted might not happen. In an article about the pilots most likely to make it to television this year, the Hollywood Reporter had this to say about Marvel's Most Wanted:

"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. spinoff Marvel's Most Wanted has been cooling and some say it's not considered the lock it once was."

There's one series, though, that's expected to get picked up: Conviction. That series stars Hayley Atwell, who is also the star of Agent Carter, suggesting that Atwell's schedule just got too busy for a third season of the show, although previous reports stated that she would juggle work on both series. However, the Hollywood Reporter believes Agent Carter getting a third season is now considered "highly unlikely," probably due to its poor ratings this season.

It seems that, as far as ABC goes, things are cooling down for the Marvel cinematic universe. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. gets to stick around, though, thanks to a recent confirmation of a fourth season. If Marvel's Most Wanted doesn't happen, it could prove interesting how the network chooses to deal with S.H.I.E.L.D.'s loss of Mockingbird and Lance Hunter, who left the team to go into hiding. Would they return to the fold? Or will S.H.I.E.L.D. just forget they ever existed?

Two genre shows might get first seasons, though: The CW's Riverdale, which is a modern take on the characters from the Archie comics, is bound to get airtime. That network also has an untitled period drama set in Transylvania that's likely to get greenlit.
