Apple isn't quite done showing off new software and products. Just a little over a month after the Flint Center fireworks for the iPhone 6, Apple is planning to showcase new iPads, if the rumors and signs hold true.

The rumors claim Apple is preparing to unveil versions of the iPad Air and Mini that have been fitted with the company's new A8 processors and Touch ID, a vital feature for bringing iPad into the Apple Pay charge.

An Apple insider is alleging the company has set mid-October as the deadline for for several projects in anticipation of another product launch during the latter half of the month.

OS X Yosemite is expected to launch sometime this fall. And if Apple has planned a separate media event to reveal the new operating system, it would follow that it would prop up the presentation with new products.

Furthering suggestions that Apple is preparing to launch a reworked iPad are developer claims, indicating new versions of the tablets have been showing up in analytics reports.

An October 2014 iPad and Os X Yosemite launch would match the October 2013 release of OS X Mavericks, along with the iPad Air and Retina Mini.

It would make a little more sense if the launch of OS X was accompanied by the introduction of a new MacBook. But with a value-minded summer reset of the series and Intel still working to release its Broadwell line of processors, the more likley launch companion of OS X seems to be a pair of new iPads.

Back in late July, Apple updated the processing power and doubled the RAM of the base models of the MacBook Pro with Retina. The tech firm also lowered the price of the MacBook Pro without Retina.

"People love their MacBook Pro because of the thin and light aluminum unibody design, beautiful Retina display, all-day battery life and deep integration with OS X," said Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of worldwide marketing after the MacBook refresh in July. "The MacBook Pro with Retina display gets even better with faster processors, more memory, more affordable configurations and a free upgrade to OS X Yosemite this fall."

In August, Intel released the Core i7 Extreme Edition, its first octo-core processor, but completion of the Broadwell line is still slated for sometime in 2015. Intel's next-generation processors are widely believed to be the sticking point for the true refresh of Apple's laptops and desktops.
