Supergirl is about to get a lot more super.

Warner Bros. TV recently confirmed that Kara Zor-El's cousin Superman, aka Clark Kent, will finally appear onscreen during the show's second season.

This comes after initial reports during Supergirl's first season that DC didn't want the iconic character on TV so that they could focus more on him in the movies. This change of mind comes after the disappointment that was Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, as well as Supergirl's move from CBS to The CW.

"Greg [Berlanti], Ali [Adler] and I are beyond thrilled to welcome Clark Kent and his slightly-more-famous alter ego to the world of Supergirl, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said in a statement. "Superman will be appearing in the first two episodes of the new season and we cannot wait to see who next dons the red cape!"

In the first season of Supergirl, Superman was often mentioned in passing, especially in conversations with James Olsen, his best friend. The Man of Steel often only appeared to Kara as a text message or online conversation. This made the show awkward at times, because Kara often needed his help beyond him telling her "good luck." The series did feature a younger version of the character, but that scene only happened in Kara's head.

Now, though, the Man of Steel heads back to the small screen. There are no details yet about his visit to National City, but it's likely to have something to do with that Kryptonian pod that crashed during Supergirl's season finale.

There is also no word on who will don the superhero tights and cape, although Smallville fans would really like to see former Clark Kent, Tom Welling, take on the role. That suggestion isn't completely out of left field, though, because Supergirl has added previous "Super"-related actors, including former Superman Dean Cain and former Supergirl Helen Slater, who portray Kara's parents on the new series.

Supergirl also has a big crossover event planned for next season, too, when she joins up with Arrow, The Flash and DC's Legends of Tomorrow.

Way to go, Supergirl: The CW looks good on you already. Supergirl returns to TV this fall.
