It was only yesterday that Destiny players were shocked to find that the 'Loot Cave,' a glitch that allowed players to obtain gear and levels abnormally quickly, was being removed from the game. Bungie confessed to its mistake, stating that Destiny was made to be played with friends, but not when all of your friends are shooting at a random hole in the wall. Fans were obviously upset; the end-game grind in Destiny is extremely random, and the Loot Cave was the only place where progress was guaranteed.

Gamers are an industrious lot, though, and while the Loot Cave's demise was certainly a hindrance, it's unwise to ever underestimate fans. The original Loot Cave may be gone, but a new Loot Cave has already been discovered:

Following the patch, YouTube user PS4Trophies managed to find another similar location in Old Russia. It's not quite as focused as the original Loot Cave, but there are some added benefits to the new location. Enemies, instead of getting stuck and refusing to move forward, now have much more room to maneuver. This means that enemies will continue to spawn and have an easier time doing so, which in turn means that loot can be farmed far more easily and efficiently.

The new location is also much more wide-open, whereas the original Loot Cave's layout was cramped and allowed for very little wiggle room. Players' positions had to be incredibly precise for the exploit to work, but that shouldn't be an issue with the new Loot Cave. This should make it easier for larger parties to farm items, and if this new location is anything like the last one, players will flock to it in droves.

For weeks, Destiny players had flocked to a seemingly random cave on the Old Russia map, shooting into the darkness without end. An exploit was found in the game's spawning system, and enemies began pouring out of the cave on a near-constant level. For players, this meant that simply lining up and firing was a sure-fire way to find new items.

Sure enough, both items and players began piling up en masse, which effectively broke Destiny's end-game progression system. After the patch removing the Loot Cave was implemented, players argued that Destiny's high-level grind was already broken, as progress was incredibly random and didn't always reward players for doing well.

In a statement through its official website, Bungie addressed the issue, saying that the loot system would definitely be changed in the future. Unfortunately, the developers didn't elaborate any further than that, so for the time being, players are left with a system that doesn't always work.

At the very least, players will have some time to farm this new location while Bungie works out yet another patch. Hopefully, Destiny's next update will come with more solid, long-term fixes.
