Three months after the limited edition Vanquish Zagato coupe's successful debut in Italy, Aston Martin brings its latest masterpiece to North American shores. However, it did not come alone.

Accompanying the coupe was the Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Volante, which was showcased during the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance that was held last Aug. 19, Friday. As the name hints, it is the two-door convertible version of the Vanquish Zagato.

Just like the hardtop coupe, the convertible is fitted with a 6-liter V12 engine that produces 592 horsepower and is projected to do 0 to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds. Note that this is slower than the coupe's 3.5 seconds.

While the double-bubble top had to be dropped, Aston Martin specifies that the Vanquish Zagato Volante proportions were kept in line with the coupe. Some features were also revealed to be sourced from some of Aston Martin's successful automobile releases. One of which is the round tail light reflectors that feature Vulcan's "bladed" LED technology. Another is the custom-made folding hood that employs the same mechanism used in Vanquish Volante.

"Just like the Coupe, we have emphasised the way surfaces change and intersect to create a muscular form," says Marek Reichman, chief creative officer and EVP of Aston Martin.

The car manufacturer touts enhancement and personalization options for the Vanquish Zagato Volante cabin. It says that, with its "Q" division, the cabin can be finished with luxurious and rich materials. The options include the Bridge of Weir leather, anodized bronze detailing and herringbone carbon-fibre. The interior also features Zagato's trademark "Z" that can be found on the center console and headrests. Both the door sections and seats are stitched with "Z" quilt patterns on them.

The Vanquish Zagato Volante is the newest automobile to emerge from Aston Martin's five-decade collaboration with Italian coachbuilder Zagato. The list includes the 1960 DB4 GT Zagato race car and the 2002 DB7 Vantage Zagato, along with V12 Vantage Zagato of 2011.

"The Vanquish Zagato Volante illustrates the ways in which Aston Martin design can evolve in collaboration with such a trusted and long-standing partner," Reichman adds.

Just like the Vanquish Zagato hardtop, only 99 Vanquish Zagato Volante will be produced from Aston Martin's headquarters in Gaydon, England. Aston Martin is yet to make a comment on how much its new luxury car will sell for but estimates are near the coupe's $745,000 price tag. Bear in mind that the limited edition coupe has already sold out.

Aston Martin is looking to deliver the cars in 2017.
