With holiday shoppers battled it out to snag the best Black Friday deals, a new report reveals that the biggest hit for Apple was its iPad Air.

According to data from Localytics, an analytics firm, the iPad Air beat all other devices in the four-day shopping extravaganza that lasted from Black Friday to Cyber Monday.

To compile the data, Localytics compared the activations of more than 1 million devices in the U.S. during the Black Friday weekend with the preceding weekend.

There was huge demand for both the recently launched iPhone 5c and the iPad Air during the holiday shopping weekend, per Localytics, with traffic for the iPad Air growing by a massive 51 percent and taking the top honors.

The demand for iDevices is not surprising as they were discounted at various retailers as part of Black Friday promotions.

"Localytics examined the weekly growth during the Black Friday weekend, as compared to the previous weekend. According to Localytics' data, a whopping 51% more new iPad Air devices were seen than the previous week. This is due to a combination of factors, including Apple's promotion of giving gift cards with purchases of the iPad Air and iPad Mini (but not iPad Mini 2nd gen) devices. This, combined with a smaller base of iPad Air devices and the novelty of the iPad Air (released on November 1st) resulted in the iPad Air dominating on Black Friday weekend," notes Localytics.

The second spot was a tie between two more Apple devices - the first-gen iPad mini and the iPhone 5c, both of which grew by 26 percent.

Android fans, however, need not be disappointed as out of the total nine devices analyzed by Localytics, three of them were Android-based.

The Kindle Fire HD from Amazon grew by 23 percent and took the fourth spot. The device had seen a $50 reduction in price by Amazon during the Black Friday weekend, which in turn led to the tablet selling out before Cyber Monday ended.

The fifth and sixth spots were taken by the Samsung Galaxy S4 and iPad mini 2 with 20 percent and 17 percent growth, respectively.

The seventh and eighth spots were taken by iPhone 5s and iPhone 4s with 15 percent and 10 percent growths, respectively.

Rounding off the list at the ninth spot was the 7-inch rival of the iPad mini, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, which grew by 8 percent.
