Best Buy will start selling the ZTE Axon 7 mini at a reduced price soon.
ZTE's American website sold the Axon 7 and the Axon 7 mini for $349.98 and $249.98, after a discount of $50, as part of its Black Friday 2016 deals. Customers who wanted to buy the Axon 7 mini but could not take advantage of the price drop during Black Friday should not be disappointed as Best Buy will start selling the mobile phone with the same $50 discount starting Dec. 4.
Currently, the company's official website is selling only the Platinum Gray version of the Axon 7 mini for $299.98.
Best Buy will sell both the Ion Gold and Platinum Gray versions of the Axon 7 mini for $249. The deal will run through Dec. 10. The current list price of both the hues of the ZTE device is $299.98 at Best Buy.
Axon 7 Mini Specs
The ZTE offering features a 5.2-inch Full HD screen with a resolution of 1,080 x 1,920 pixels. Under the hood are a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor clocked at 1.5 GHz, Adreno 405 GPU and 3 GB of RAM.
The smartphone offers 32 GB of internal storage with the option to expand the storage capacity to up to an additional 128 GB with a microSD card.
The Axon 7 mini is equipped with a 16-megapixel (f/1.9 lens) rear-facing camera and an 8-megapixel front camera.
A 2,705 mAh battery fuels the Axon 7 mini, which offers up to 15 hours of talk time and up to 270 hours of standby time. The battery also supports fast charging and owners can get 50 percent juice with just 30 minutes of charge.
The fingerprint scanner has become an important feature in top-end mobile phones for enhancing the security of a device. The Axon 7 mini includes a fingerprint sensor just under the rear-facing camera.
Google has already released Android 7.0 Nougat, which has been rolled out to some handsets. The new software is also expected to reach more devices in the coming months.
ZTE has also confirmed that the Axon 7 will get the Android 7.0 Nougat update in January 2017. It is likely that the Axon 7 mini will also get a software update soon.
According to Best Buy, the Axon 7 mini on offer is compatible with GSM networks in the United States. Best Buy notes that in the United States the ZTE phone will be compatible with AT&T, Cricket, H2O Wireless, Net10, Simple Mobile, T-Mobile and TracFone. This means Verizon and Sprint customers will not be able to benefit from the latest price cut on the Axon 7 mini.
