The Samsung Galaxy S8 might be even more powerful than initially thought, as a new tip hints at a massive 8 GB of RAM.

Following a tough year with a disastrous Galaxy Note 7 release, Samsung has to pull all strings and come up with a big hit next year to make up for it. With this in mind, the Galaxy S8 flagship is rumored to sport highly advanced specs and features to make the Note 7 fiasco a distant memory and regain consumer trust for the brand.

Samsung Galaxy S8 With 8 GB RAM, 10-nm Processor

The latest rumor now claims that the Galaxy S8 will boast a hefty 8 GB of RAM, which would neatly complement the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor constructed on Samsung's 10-nanometer architecture. The Galaxy S8 will allegedly feature a UFS 2.1 flash storage chip as well.

The latest tidbit of information now comes from a tipster on Weibo (via MySmartPrice), who offered accurate leaks in the past regarding unannounced Samsung devices. Nevertheless, it's highly advisable to take this news with a hefty grain of salt and we can't vouch for the accuracy of the information.

Galaxy S8 Rumored Specs

Previous rumors, meanwhile, hinted at a Galaxy S8 with 6 GB of RAM and 256 GB of native storage space, which would still be powerful enough to place the handset at the high-end segment of the smartphone market.

The Galaxy S8 may also rock a high-tech Y-OCTA display, as well as an advanced "Beast Mode" that could supercharge the smartphone's performance to better compete against rivals.

Some rumors also hinted at dual cameras for the Galaxy S8, while other reports said Samsung ditched plans for a dual camera setup.

Returning to processing power, 8 GB of RAM should translate to blazing-fast performance for virtually any task, especially combined with a powerful processor. While some versions of the Galaxy S8 are expected to pack the Snapdragon 835 processor, global variants of the smartphone should come with Samsung's own Exynos 8895 chipset. Samsung usually releases its flagships with Qualcomm chips in the United States and China and in-house Exynos processors in other regions.

On the software side of things, the Samsung Galaxy S8 will undoubtedly come with Android Nougat on board out of the box, with Samsung's own UI on top. The Galaxy S8 was also rumored to come with a smart AI assistant, but Google could prevent it from happening.

With no official word from Samsung, however, take all rumors and speculation with a healthy dose of skepticism. Until the Galaxy S8 comes out, Samsung fans can give the powerful Galaxy S7 a spin.
