Asus has rolled out updates for its Android Wear ZenWatch 3 and ZenWatch 2 models, introducing new features and bug fixes for the wearable devices.

ZenWatch 3 New Features

ZenWatch 3 is the new Asus wearable device with a 1.39-inch rounded screen in AMOLED display. The watch boasts a sturdy feature, such as the Corning Gorilla Glass 3, and also shows off a classic design that can be elegantly worn on any occasion. Asus emphasized the design luxury showing its dedication in creating a new classic.

ZenWatch 3 is a customizable device that enables users to personalize it while providing vital information. It is also often compared to the new Samsung Gear S3 because of some similarities, both have circular dials, AMOLED displays, and pixel densities.

The update for the ZenWatch 3 was released to improve the usability of the watch. It removed the charging/discharging notifications, which many users deemed unnecessary and was replaced with a notification sound for discharging.

Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connection stability was improved, as well as customization settings and translation capabilities. A total of seven new and interesting built-in watch faces were also included in the update.

Asus also introduced the new ECO mode to drastically reduce the power usage and extend the battery life of the wearable device. Pressing the button found at the bottom of the watch will activate the feature.

ZenWatch 2 December Update

The ZenWatch 2 December update did not introduce any new features unlike the ZenWatch 3, but it improved the security of the smartwatch to prevent it from being hacked.

This security fix is crucial, as it addresses a number of vulnerabilities found in the device. Without it, hackers can exploit the system and gain access to sensitive information. It can even access the smartphone where the wearable is tethered.
