Walt Disney Studios has sealed a deal with Google Play to bring a plethora of movies from Disney, Marvel and Pixar, Android users' way.

This would be made possible via Disney Movies Anywhere, which simplifies things for users so that they can view the movie collection from Marvel, Pixar and Disney on-the-go. Users can either stream the purchased movies online or download them to their device.

"We want to make it easy for movie fans to enjoy all of their past and future digital purchases across all of their devices. Our partnership with Disney now gives Google Play users the ability to conveniently watch all of their Disney, Marvel and Pixar digital movies that have been purchased from any Disney Movies Anywhere participating retailer," revealed Jonathan Zepp, head of Google Play Movies partnerships.

Disney pushed out the Disney Movies Anywhere program earlier in February this year in partnership with Apple. This initiative enabled consumers to buy and sync Disney movies through iTunes. Users also had the option of uploading a specific code from a DVD and playing the same on an iDevice.

Now with the partnership with Google Play, Android users too will be able to play the nearly 400 movies offered by the Disney Movies Anywhere library on their mobile devices. Users can also earn Disney reward points on digital purchases.

Moreover, for a limited period, users will also be entitled to receive a free digital copy of "Wreck-It-Ralph."

With the partnership with Google in the bag, Disney will be able to expand its mobile user reach as per IDC, Android accounts for nearly 80 percent of the mobile space. Moreover, with the online access to its movie library, Disney will be able to strengthen its fight against piracy.

"If you make a legal, reasonably priced offering, people often choose that," opines Disney's chief technology officer Jamie Voris.

Joining Disney Movies Anywhere is free of charge and users get a free movie once they sign up and connect their digital movie account.
