It's not often that a re-release gets so many people excited. There are so many HD collections and remakes available for players nowadays, but at their core, these games are still the same. Very few collections offer something new and different in addition to the older content. It's great that newer fans get to experience the games, but there's nothing that makes the games worth another purchase for those that already bought the game.

Grand Theft Auto V on Playstation 4 and Xbox One is not your average remake, however. Rockstar Games has gone back into the game and nearly rebuilt the thing from the ground up: there are new modes of play, updated graphics and new content on top of the already massive game from last year. More work went into this re-release than some entire games.

Just over a week remains before Grand Theft Auto V on next-gen consoles is released. Rockstar has been wise to focus on the changes and improvements to the game in trailers thus far - but then again, there's nothing like one of the studio's good old-fashioned story trailers. Nobody makes a preview like Rockstar:

The Grand Theft Auto V launch trailer isn't the longest video in the world, but Rockstar knows exactly what to focus on with the limited run-time. There are a lot of story snippets in just over a minute; there's also a lot of Trevor, and that's never a bad thing. There's a surprising amount of late-game content in the trailer, but there's nothing in the way of spoilers for those that didn't play the game last year.

While the trailer doesn't necessarily focus on the updates, that doesn't mean Rockstar wasn't showing them off. The new lighting engine and environmental detail is absolutely amazing. Just go back and compare the shots from the trailer to the original game's in-game cutscenes. It's easy to see that the next-gen update is leaps and bounds past the 2013 version.

The best part is that there's not much time left before players finally get their hands on the game: Grand Theft Auto V hits the Playstation 4 and Xbox One on Nov. 18.
