Ghost Recon: Wildlands players are in for a treat: the iconic Predator is jumping into the fray, and it's bringing some nifty rewards along.

The whole thing is part of a new DLC, and the best part is, it's coming in free of charge.

The Predator Heads To 'Ghost Recon: Wildlands'

It should be cleared up that the special event where players can go head-to-head against the Predator is a limited-time deal only. At that, it runs from Dec. 14 to "early January."

As everyone has probably guessed by now, the players are tasked with hunting down the Predator in the mission. It can be played in either solo mode or online co-op that allows up to four users to team up.

Described as "the most difficult fight players could find" in the game, it won't be easy to accomplish. That said, it would probably be best not to go at it alone.

Of course, the rewards of taking down the Predator are all worthwhile. Those who successfully manage to do it will receive exclusive items, including but not limited to the Predator mask with Predator vision.

Also, a new Predator Pack is up for grabs at the in-game store, and it's bringing 15 new customizations and weapons based on the original movie and a new close combat move.

The fun doesn't end there either. A new class inspired by Dutch, Arnold Schwarzenegger's character in the movie, is making its way to the Ghost War PVP mode. Not much was revealed about it, but the class can enter a "battle rage mode." Players can avail this using Prestige Points, but they can also acquire it, though, either the season pass or Ghost War Pass.

The DLC and all the goodies will be available across the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the PC, and as mentioned earlier, it's free.

It's also worth mentioning that adding the Predator to Ghost Recon: Wildlands is the 30th anniversary celebration of the original film, which debuted back in 1987.

"At Ubisoft Paris, we have been fans of the Predator for a long time and are thrilled to bring such an iconic character to our game. The challenge is full of references to the original Predator movie, and we cannot wait to see the reaction of our players!" Nouredine Abboud, a senior producer at Ubisoft, said.

What Else To Expect

Aside from introducing new in-game items and a special enemy, players can expect to experience "some of the tension felt by Dutch and his crew" in the original movie. That's because the development team aimed to recreate the same pressure or anxiety by dropping hints of the Predator's presence before allowing players to engage it and carefully adding the details of the extraterrestrial to a T.

"Getting that feeling of being swallowed by the surrounding jungle was something we really wanted to convey. And of course, the music takes a big part in creating the tension," Abboud said.
