Blizzard Entertainment announced that the free-to-play digital card game Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft is now available to users of Android. Initially, players from New Zealand, Australia and Canada can check out the game from the Google Play store where it is available to download. Players from other regions can expect the game to be available in their area when the game launches worldwide in the next couple of days. Part of the expansion will include the game's availability at the Amazon Appstore for Android.

The Android release of the super-addictive game includes all of the content that the game features. This includes the recently added Curse of Naxxramas adventure and Goblins vs. Gnomes expansion. The latter adds 120 new cards to the game's current collection. Moreover, players can purchase Goblins vs. Gnomes card packs which are available at the in-game shop which accepts gold or real currency. They can earn cards and treat them as Arena rewards or they can craft them by using Arcane Dust. Playing a match on Android will also entitle a player to get a free pack of classic cards.

"We're excited to welcome Android players to the Hearthstone community," said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. "We're looking forward to bringing the game to even more mobile platforms - including phones - in the future."

Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft is a game that allows a player to become a hero in a strategy-filled card game that is always whimsical and fast-paced. Players can do a number of tricks such as gaining control of an ever-evolving battlefield, releasing powerful cards to create spells and calling minions.

Prior to the game's launching on Android, it is already available for Mac, iPad and Windows PC. Blizzard plans to make the game available to smartphone users next year which would include those who play games on their iPhone and Android devices.

The game's Android tablet version requires a RAM of 1GB, a screen size of 6 inches or wider and Android 4.0. The latest Android 5.0 Lollipop or Fire OS 4.5.1 are also recommended. Currently, there are at least 14 Android tablet devices that have been verified to be compatible with the game. These include five Kindle Fire tablets from Amazon (2014's HD 6, HD 7, HDX 7, HDX 8.9 and 2013's HDX 7); one from Google (Nexus 7, 2013); one from Huawei (MediaPad X1); one from NVIDIA (SHIELD Tablet); one from Sony (Xperia Z2 Tablet LTE); and five from Samsung Galaxy (Mega 6.3 I9200, Note 8.0, Note LTE 10.1 N8020, Note 10.1 of 2014, and Tab Pro 8.4).
