Aside from hauling your drunken friends home from the bars, there's no greater New Year's Eve tradition than a fireworks display. Rivaled only by the shows on the Fourth of July, New Year's Eve fireworks are an explosive way to start off another year.

Of course, not all fireworks displays are created equal - heck, not even all explosions are created equal. For whatever reason, people just love seeing big, billowy balls of fire, and the rules are always the same: the bigger, the better! It doesn't matter if it's for New Year's Eve or a part of your favorite movie - explosions are just plain fun. Thankfully, the folks over at Screen Junkies have gone and combined the best parts of both worlds: giant movie explosions and New Year's Eve!

It's the best part about movies (the explosions) and the best parts about New Year's (also the explosions), all rolled into one! Granted, there's quite a bit of Michael Bay in there, but at least it's only showing off the best parts of his movies, right?

There's actually quite a bit of film history in that short video, including Transformers, Star Wars, Caddyshack, Fight Club, and Tropic Thunder. Usually, this sort of supercut is just a long list of clips from different '80s action movies, so props to Screen Junkies for actually using a wide variety of films!

So, whether you're going out tonight to watch the fireworks or staying in to watch some of your favorite explosions on TV - make sure to have a happy New Year (and don't hurt yourself)!
