Bethesda confirmed reports that it will release Fallout Legacy Collection later this month but only in Germany and the United Kingdom for now.

News about the upcoming video game collection first broke over the internet last week through a leaked Amazon Germany listing. The entry claimed that the Fallout bundle would come out on Oct. 25.

In a tweet sent out by Bethesda UK, the game company said the details of the Amazon listing were indeed correct. It went on to reveal that Fallout Legacy Collection will include six games in the series: Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics, Fallout 3 GOTY, Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition, and Fallout 4 GOTY.

Based on these titles, it looks like the bundle is dedicated to PC gamers. This can be seen in the inclusion of the original Fallout, which never had a console release throughout its entire run.

Limited Release

The Amazon Germany listing showed that Fallout Legacy Collection will be released in Germany and the UK. This caused many fans to wonder whether the game bundle would also be made available in other parts of the world.

However, Bethesda later confirmed that the collection will only be offered in those two countries. While the company's plans may change in the coming weeks, it appears the Fallout bundle will stay in limited release for the time being.

The collection is currently being offered at €39.99 ($43.91), which is a reasonable price given that it includes six different video games. All of the titles featured also come in their complete editions.

Video Game Classics

Most gamers may not find some of the titles in Fallout Legacy Collection appealing, especially the early PC games such as Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics. However, these three helped establish the lore behind the Fallout series, something that older players and hardcore fans certainly appreciate.

Fallout is a turn-based action RPG that first came out in 1997. It was developed and published by Interplay, intending it as the spiritual successor to the company's prior hit Wasteland.

Much like other role-playing games of the time, Fallout features a character creation system known as SPECIAL. The name stands for Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Agility, and Luck. These characteristics are complemented by a number of combat, active, and passive skills that help player characters progress in the game.

Fallout 2 retained many of the gameplay elements introduced in the original game. The difference comes in the form of an expanded collection of weapons and weapon variants. The sequel also expounded on the quest system found in the first title.

Meanwhile, Fallout Tactics has the same turn-based combat system as the previous two entries. However, it is more focused on tactical combat and strategy instead of roleplaying as Fallout and Fallout 2.

The series made its first major foray into the realm of first-person/third-person action shooters when it released Fallout 3. This format became the staple for the game franchise moving forward.
