Even before Pokemon Sword and Shield was launched, Game Freak was facing some issues already--from the leaked Pokedex, to the backlash that followed due to the massive cut.

Then disappointed fans went on Twitter to post their problems when they finally got the game, accusing the studio of cutting corners when they were developing the game.

Raid Battle Issue

Now, fans are getting more disappointed because, apparently, the raid battles are spoiling the experience for some players due to its easy exploit, saying that they can't get raid battles to work because they can't find matches.

According to Polygon, many are stuck trying to find matches for a raid battle that doesn't exist.

This happens because to open up a raid, fans will have to open a lobby--and if they don't like what they see, players can open a new lobby, while those in the first one they have opened are waiting for matches.

The easy exploitation of the raid battles is yet to be fixed by Game Freak.

Meanwhile, not everything is disappointing--in fact, the game is doing well, especially with a few fun things the developers have thrown in, including a counterfeit Pokemon you might have.

Sinistea and Polteageist

Sinistea is a Ghost-type Pokemon that soon evolved into Polteageist once it inhabits a tea-set, a charming and unique idea, primarily since Galar is modeled after England.

Sinistea is a Ghost-type Pokemon living in a cup.

However, there are two versions of Polteageist: a real and a fake one; and it's a part of the game, not a glitch or bug of any sort.

According to Polygon, a Pokedex entry for both Sinistea and Polteageist actually tells you about these two versions, saying: "The teacup in which this Pokémon makes its home is a famous piece of antique tableware. Many forgeries are in circulation."

That means you can either get an authentic or a fake version of Polteageist in Pokemon Sword and Shield.

How to Know your Pokemon's Authenticity

But, how do you know if you have the counterfeit version?

Based on Pokemon website Serebii, most of the "standard form" of Sinistea and Polteageist you can find in the wilds of Galar are counterfeit versions.

To know, a Sinistea or a Polteageist should have a small mark of authenticity underneath the tea seat, which you can check by trying to flip over your Pokemon or going to you Pokedex and looking at the details.

Once you're in your Pokedex, choose your Pokemon and then press A to see the details, and then press A once again for "Motion/Cry," allowing you to move your Pokemon around and check whether they have the seal of authenticity.

Chipped Pots vs. Cracked Pots

Additionally, GamesRadar noted that the evolution item you used to evolve Sinistea could also affect its authenticity: Chipped Pots are real, while Cracked Pots are fake. That said, you'll want to be extra careful with the tea set you find. Some Pokemon Sword and Shield players on Twitter have also shared images of both the counterfeit and authentic version of the Pokemon.

Got a Fake Sinistea or Polteageist?

So, what if you got a counterfeit Sinistea or Polteageist?

Apparently, there is no need to worry, since the Pokemon will still have the same stat regardless of whether you have the authentic or counterfeit version, and that it's something that the developers just threw in for fun.

But, if you really want to capture an authentic Polteageist, you first need to catch a real Sinistea first.
