Pokemon GO Unlocks New Special Research Tasks in 2020 

Since one of the new announcements of Niantic is having a new set of Pokemon GO Special Research Tasks available for Jan. 2020, the fight against Team Rocket continues for all PoGo players. 

However, if you wish to play on this Special Research, you must first need to finish its prerequisite Special Research task named 'A Troubling Situation.'

Once you get to finish this special research, you can now proceed to 'The Take-Over Continues' Special Research task, team up with Professor Willow, fight against Team Rocket led by Giovanni, and save another Legendary Pokemon: Shadow Moltres. 

Though the tasks are almost the same from the past Special Research, the reward changes from month to month. This means that expect more from Jan. 2020's Special Research Tasks if you wish to fight and catch against more powerful Pokemon on the field. 

Steps To Win 'The Take-Over Continues' Special Research Task

According to Polygon, there is a step-by-step pattern that PoGo players must do in order to win against Team Rocket.

Do not worry, though, tons of prizes awaits for you once you get to finished all these tasks. 

Step 1

  • Spin as much as 10 Pokestops and more to win 500 XP
  • Defeat 3 Team GO Rocket Grunts to earn 500 XP
  • Catch 1 Shadow Pokémon for 500 XP

Rewards for Completion: 500 Stardust, 10 Poké Balls, 10 Razz Berries 

Step 2

  • Spin Pokestops for five days in a row in order to win 750 XP
  • Purify as much as 15 Shadow Pokémon that equivalents to 750 XP
  • Win five gym raids to win 750 XP

Rewards for Completion: 1,000 Stardust, 3 Hyper Potions, 3 Revives

Step 3 

  • Use 6 super effective Charge Moves in gym battles for 1,000 XP
  • Win 3 Great League Trainer Battles against another trainer (1,000 XP)
  • Defeat 6 Team GO Rocket grunts (1,000 XP)

Rewards for Completion: 1,500 Stardust, 15 Great Balls, 5 Pinap Berries

Step 4

  • Defeat Team GO Rocket Leader Arlo (1,250 XP)
  • Defeat Team GO Rocket Leader Cliff (1,250 XP)
  • Defeat Team GO Rocket Leader Sierra (1,250 XP)

Rewards for Completion: 2,000 Stardust, 1 Super Rocket Radar, 3 Golden Razz Berries

Step 5

  • Find the Team GO Rocket Boss (2,500 Stardust)
  • Battle the Team GO Rocket Boss (1,500 XP)
  • Defeat the Team GO Rocket Boss (3 Silver Pinap Berries)

Rewards for Completion: 3,000 Stardust, 1 Fast TM, 1 Charged TM

Step 6

Once you completed and defeated all these Team Go Rocket Bosses, you will win 2,000 XP each. 

Rewards for Completion: 3 Max Revives, 20 Ultra Balls, 3 Rare Candy
