A Hong Kong Study has just recently found that a single flush could release about 80,000 dirty droplets that are left in the air for hours whenever you flush without closing the lid and these dirty droplets might just lead to a coronavirus spreading to the next user of the toilet seat. Additional research by the Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering of the City University supported this study by adding that these smaller bacterias can be airborne and transmit possible viruses such as the Coronavirus from Wuhan.

Protective measures from the Coronavirus include leaving the toilet seat shut when flushing

Now that this additional knowledge has come to surface, citizens who want to protect themselves from the Coronavirus can take extra measures and limit the amount of risk when it comes to being infected by the coronavirus pathogens. Aside from physical contact with random people, protective hygienic measures should also be observed to ensure total prevention from the deadly Coronavirus.

The airborne aspect of this virus should also be considered

Although the virus was first reported to travel through physical contact and exchange of fluids, recent studies have found that this virus is now capable of transmitting itself through traveling in the air. There are about 14,500 droplets that range from 0.3 to 10 micrometers that could travel in the air whenever you flush with the lid open.

There is a way to eliminate about 80% of the bacteria around in the air by turning on the exhaust but the best way to prevent bacteria from spreading in the comforts of your bathroom would be to close the lid of your toilet whenever you flush. This way, water droplets remain inside the toilet and do not spread around in the air.

The panic around the deadly coronavirus from Wuhan and the Covid 19

People around the world are trying to take any and all protective measures they can to ensure that this virus does not penetrate them individually. Some countries are even limiting the passage of flights and other means of travel to and from their respected countries. Although this works on a national scale, it is still the responsibility of the citizens to do their best to prevent this virus from spreading even further. Hygiene is one of the pillar protective measures that can decrease the risk of infection.

The best citizens can do is to look into their own homes and take care of certain possible hazardous actions

Making sure that your house does not attract bacteria is the first step you should take. The more damp and dirty your house is, the bigger the chance that bacteria and viruses can survive within your house and affect the people living with you. Your family deserves to be safe from these infections which is why having sanitizers strategically positioned around the house is a great thing to do to limit the amount of contamination within the house.
