Sony has now confirmed that 'no delay' on the production line of the company's next-generation gaming console, PlayStation 5 or PS5 will happen. The company, though, clarifies that the release date of PS5 will not happen in October, but a few months after it. Meanwhile, Epic Games' Unreal Engine releases a tech demo video of what appears to be the graphics of a very Tomb Raider-style game on a PS5 console.

Sony: Launch of PS5 still continues at the end of the year

The long wait will not extend any longer, according to Sony itself. Their next-gen gaming console will still push its original release date on holidays 2020. This was despite the health danger and lockdowns implemented around the world due to coronavirus.

Impressively, Sony may not be as affected as other companies when it comes to their line of production for their much-awaited console.

When the company presented its financial presentation for this year, one thing that caught in the minds of the listeners was the launch date of the upcoming PS5.

Report states on Game Spot that the production isn't affected by the pandemic. Though they experienced problems when it comes to the hardware development and software advancement of the device, Sony states that 'no delay' will happen on PS5's launch.

"Although there has been a slight impact on the production of PS4 hardware due to issues in the component supply chain, demand in the short-term is being addressed with current inventory and sales are trending well," the report reads. "Sales of game software that is downloaded from the network, as well as PS Plus and PlayStation Now (PS Now) subscriber numbers have significantly increased."

Sony, though, clarifies that this assumption is only applicable for the present time. A lot of things might still happen for the next months since the pandemic continues to be a huge bump in the economy.

"Regarding the launch of PlayStation 5, although factors such as employees working from home and restrictions on international travel have presented some challenges in regards to the part of the testing process and the qualification of production lines, development is progressing with the launch of the console scheduled for the 2020 holiday season," the report concludes.

PS5 tech demo released! What it looks like when playing on PS5?

A video was recently posted on Youtube by Epic Games' Unreal Engine of what appears to be the tech demo reel of next-gen gaming consoles, including PS5.

The 9-min long video shows how the games' graphics will be displayed once you use a PS5 console. To show how detailed it is, Unreal Engine uses a Tomb Raider-like video game called Lumen In The Land Of Nanite.

This video already reached over 4 million views on Youtube since its first release on Wednesday, May 13.
