This year, Apple iPhones will release its 5G phones. Nevertheless, people are excited to see how huge this new technology will change the iPhone's line in the future. Excitingly, a new report states that Apple 5G iPhones will have an OLED screen display for all its 5G devices. This move is no longer a new strategy from other tech giants, but it could cost more than 5G phones were already are.

5G is the newest technology that everyone wants to see in the future. And of course, Apple won't be willing to miss out on these transitions. In 2020, the new set of 5G smartphones would be delivered from the company. Here's news, though. All of them were said to have OLED displays on their screen.

Nikkei Asian Review reported that there had been a major change going on inside the Apple company. The U.S. tech giant is rumored to introduce four 5G iPhones with three different screen sizes: 5.4-inch, 6.1-inch, and 6.4-inch. However, compared to their past models, these phones would have a different touch.

Ever since iPhones began, Apple always uses LCD for its smartphones. OLED only used when iPhone X was launched in 2017. But since then, only competitor tech giants like Samsung uses this technology.

OLED stands for organic light-emitting diode. This screen display is more power-efficient, sharper contrast, and has deeper back than liquid-crystal displays.

"The four new iPhones will all be equipped with flexible OLED displays. However, there will still be a notch, or "fringe," on the top of the iPhone, because Apple was unable to integrate the Face ID module into the display," an executive-level source told Nikkei. Face ID was first introduced with the iPhone X in 2017.

PC Mag said that OLED phones are more expensive than the regular phones. OLED is more in-demand than LCD, making it more costly.

Since it is now rumored that the next iPhones could bring OLED display screen, the impact of this decision could be so terrible for the market.

Nikkei reported that the longtime LCD screen supplier Japan Display and LG Display are now in the brisk changes, thanks to Apple.

"Apple has no choice but to turn to OLED displays because its competitors have already done that, and of course, every Apple shift in technologies will have huge impacts on its suppliers," said Eric Chiou, a veteran display analyst with TrendForce. "But we don't think [Japan Display] will die suddenly, as Apple is still very likely to continue to adopt LCD screens not only in its old models but also its more cost-effective models, looking forward."

Japan Display, however, did not comment on the issue.
